Image of the Day - Space Flowers

Sunflower Galaxy, a majestic spiral galaxy located about 27 million light-years away.

A large spiral galaxy fills the image, with a brightly glowing yellow core. Loosely defined spiral arms extend from it, full of dark brown dust and bright blue regions of new stars.
