Saturn, a Gem on Rings

Today we talk about maybe the most iconic and fascinating planet of our Solar System: Saturn.

Its rings make it different from all the others at a glance, although it is not the only planet with rings, they are the most visible. You can clearly see them even with a small telescope.

Discovered by Galileo Galilei in 1610, in 1857 James Clerk Maxwell demonstrated theoretically that they cannot be a single solid body, but must be composed of small particles. Nowadays, we know for sure that they are mostly composed by... water ice!
