Uranus, a lonely Giant

Discovered in 1781 by astronomer William Herschel, he originally thought it was either a comet or a star. Anyway, Uranus is the first planet discovered with the aid of a telescope: light needs about two hours and a half to travel from your eye up to the planet's surface, which is at about three billion kilometers from Earth!
