The SFB1 project represents an advanced synthesis of space research, technical innovation, and ergonomic design, fully reflecting Spacewear’s core philosophy: transferring the expertise developed for space applications into downstream products, while preserving the highest standards of safety, performance, and comfort.
At the heart of the SFB1 lies Spacewear’s long-standing research into ultra-lightweight, resistant, and comfortable materials, originally developed to meet the extreme requirements of space missions. When translated to Earth, these technologies are adapted through dedicated technical solutions tailored to specific operational needs. Achieving this balance—enhancing comfort without compromising strict safety standards—is the first and most critical challenge, and one Spacewear has successfully addressed.
The SFB1 boots are manufactured using exclusive, newly developed materials, including:
- custom-woven external carbon fiber, engineered to provide structural lightness, protection, sealing, and thermoregulatory properties;
- eco-sustainable internal materials and padding, optimized for extended use;
- “all-context” soles, designed to ensure stability and adaptability across complex operational conditions, diverse terrains, and climates;
- innovative technical solutions integrating new safety systems while preserving comfort.
A defining element of the SFB1 is its adaptive ergonomic design, developed around the anatomy of the human body and its natural movement. Ergonomics is not an aesthetic addition, but an integral functional component of the boot. This approach enhances efficiency and safety while delivering a distinctive, contemporary design—appealing to users who value both technological progress and refined form.
The SFB1 also incorporates advanced construction features such as a double-seal waterproof zipper, self-locking tongue, containment sealing profiles, integrated waterproof flex toe, and an innovative no-mud, non-slip sole, ensuring consistent performance even in critical environments.

With the SFB1, Spacewear reinforces its vision of a “New Made in Italy”: products conceived for frontier applications, developed through advanced research, and designed for a knowledgeable, demanding, and future-oriented audience. A tangible example of how space continues to act as a powerful engine for innovation on Earth.
